My Acting Background

Acting Training from Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts
I trained at LIPA from 2020 - 2021, completing a Masters Degree in Acting (Company). During this time, I was trained in movement, voice and technical approaches which I applied to our three productions: The Trial written by Franz Kafka (Steven Berkoff Adaptation), Things Lost devised by Kerry Frampton and Simon Says written by All Day Breakfast Theatre Company.
During the course, we covered practitioners from a variety of performance areas:
With regards to movement, we applied Laban efforts to our character development, alongside learning about period dance, oblique strategies and Cunningham's chance task and applying it to devised movement pieces.
Vocally, we learnt about Linklater's work which covered her resonance ladder and vocal warmups.
In July 2022, I graduated with an MA in Acting (Company) with the mark of Pass with Merit. I was awarded this degree by Sir Paul McCartney.

Co-founded All Day Breakfast Theatre Company
In 2021, I co-founded the All Day Breakfast Theatre Company formed by acting graduates from LIPA.
Our debut show, titled "Simon Says", was written by Rory Gillan and was produced/performed by our company, having evolved from our studies at LIPA. As the Musical Director, I wrote some of the music featured in the show.
In September/October 2021, we took "Simon Says" on tour around the North West of England. We performed at The Boat Shed in Ellesmere Port, The Kings Arms in Salford, The Pilgrim Pub in Liverpool and The Black-E Theatre in Liverpool.
During our tour, we won 'Spirit of the Fringe Award' and 'Best Original Play Award' at Liverpool Fringe Festival 2021. We also achieved a 8/10 'Very Good' rating in a review by Writebase. In this review, I got mentioned, quote, "In particular, Mary does a terrific job of defending Simon at every turn and having us, the audience, believe that she is emotionally absorbed in him."
